Acting & Voice Over
Originally from the UK, Jacki has worked as an actor both in England and Australia. She trained initially in Sydney before studying at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and has since appeared in numerous theatre, film and television productions. Recent film work includes the comedy horror, It’s Christmas alongside Gary Sweet, and the independent feature, The Last Video Store. Theatre work ranges from Shakespeare to Restoration Comedy and pantomime through to modern roles, including The Turn of Winston Haggle, Tartuffe, The False Count, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and Puss in Boots among others.
She began working in voice over after training with JP Orr at The Showreel and the late Bernard Shaw in London, going on to provide the voice for various commercials, narration and audiobooks, including The Silver Brumby and The Slap for The Royal National Institute for the Blind. More recently, she was the voice for a character on the animated film, Parts of Life.
Acting Tuition & Coaching
Jacki is a graduate of The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (CSSD), with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the Institute of Education, University of London, a BA (Hons) UNSW. She is an experienced acting teacher and coach and, with qualified teacher status, has taught at some of the leading acting schools in London including East 15 Acting School, The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, and conducted workshops at The Academy of Live & Recorded Arts (ALRA), The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, The Actors Centre London, and taught with practitioners at Shakespeare’s Globe. Whilst in London she successfully coached students at all levels from drama school entry to professional actors for auditions and sight reading, as well as voice and presentation skills to corporate clients. She trained in the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique with Graham Dixon of the Michael Chekhov Studio London, and has taught the technique both in London and Australia.
In Australia, Jacki has taught for the National Institute of Dramatic Art and QUT for the BFA Acting and Drama, teaching voice and acting technique. She specialises in English accents and has acted as accent coach for the QUT third year productions Breaking the Code and Pygmalion, and for the short film Ada. She has conducted voice classes for business clients and has coached individuals for auditions and drama school entry, with many students going on to achieve significant success with their career goals.
