Originally from the UK, Jacki has worked as an actor both there and in Australia. She trained initially in Sydney before studying at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and has since appeared in numerous theatre, film and television productions. She began her career with television roles in Rafferty’s RulesAustralia’s Most Wanted and Two in the Bush with Katie Manning from Doctor Who and, at the same time, appeared in corporate film roles and some of Australia’s best known commercials, including the CCs corn chips campaign, Weeties, NRMA, Sun Certain Sellers and Actifed CC among others. By this time, she started to be cast in comedy roles, and appeared with Barry Humphries as Sir Les Patterson’s assistant in the satirical video Flashbacks. Recent film work includes the comedy horror, It’s Christmas alongside Gary Sweet, and the independent feature, The Last Video Store.

Theatre work ranges from Shakespeare to Restoration Comedy and pantomime through to modern roles, including The Turn of Winston Haggle, Lady Windermere’s Fan, Tartuffe, The False Count, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Fen, Signal Driver, Puss in Boots, Pinocchio and as a female Captain Hook in Peter Pan among others.

She began working in voice over after training with JP Orr at The Showreel  and the late Bernard Shaw in London, going on to provide the voice for various commercials, narration and audiobooks, including The Silver Brumby and The Slap for The Royal National Institute for the Blind. More recently, she was the voice for a character on the animated film, Parts of Life.

As an acting teacher and coach, she has taught at a number of drama schools in the UK including East 15 Acting School and the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts, along with workshops at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. In Australia, she taught drama and voice classes at QUT, and was the accent coach for the third year productions, Breaking the Code and Pygmalion, and has also taught at The National Institute of Dramatic Art. She has conducted voice classes for business clients, worked as an accent coach on film productions, and has coached individuals for auditions and drama school entry, with many students going on to achieve significant success with their career goals.
